Top At Home Workouts of 2021

If there is one thing we’ve learned this year, it’s to take better care of ourselves. We know our health is critical from better eating habits to daily exercise. Here are a few ideas to inspire you no matter your ability or endurance… and all can be done AT HOME!

Beachbody

The Beach Body programs are a personal favorite of mine. Having traveled often in our pre-Covid world, I could easily log into Beachbody OnDemand from my iPad in any hotel room and instantly have access to a library of incredible workouts. Insanity (Shaun T is amazing) and P90x are just a few of the programs offered along with nutritious meal plans and workout schedules.

Whether you are in the mood for a quick cardio session or yoga, Beachbody has you covered and all for less than $10 a month!! Access at home from your phone, Smart TV, or iPad, and you’ll be in shape in no time!

Barre

A very popular and extremely effective workout is Barre, which is a fitness program that incorporates ballet movements and positioning. I started Barre about 5 years ago when a friend told me how much it increased her leg strength. As an avid runner, I find this workout to be a terrific supplement to any exercise program as it has increased my endurance, flexibility, and muscle tone. For some great online classes, check out the fitness app “SWEAT.”

Indoor Running and Cycling

Achieve the experience of an effective and fun spin class all in the privacy of your own home. Running and cycling are great outside, but on a cold winter day the indoor option is the way to go.

Echelon makes an amazing bike and has a variety of live classes. It’s a bit expensive but, if you’re really committed to exercising, it’s worth the cost (annualized, it’s less than a gym membership).

For a treadmill, the NordicTrak is top of the line — it’s easily available on Amazon and comes at different price points. For less than $700, you can well be on your way to a healthier you…all winter long.

Yoga

Without a doubt, Yoga is a necessary part of any exercise regimen. From meditation relaxation to strength building to easing arthritis symptoms, the benefits are endless. I truly miss going to yoga classes and learning hands on from the instructors but there are many, wonderful and effective yoga apps! Check out “Glo” at less than $20 per month with a 15-day free trial.

Remember to set time aside to exercise. Schedule it into your day and know that it takes 21 days to form a habit! I wish you all the best in your endeavor to get in better shape in 2021!
